White House Asian Economic Summit in Gwinnett: The White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders is hosting an event to connect local community leaders with federal leaders and resources. Dragon drawing contest: To mark the Year of the Dragon, the Decatur Lunar New Year organizing team is inviting children to participate in a dragon drawing contest. The winning drawings will be for sale as stickers at the Pan-Asian Lunar New Year festival in Decatur on February 3. Submissions accepted through January 15. Submit drawings here.

Learn to play the tabla or oud: The Alif Institute’s winter session of music classes and clubs starts this month. Session starts January 16 and goes through to May. Details and registration here.
